I was reading the dawanda forums and I came across this thread

Design a DaWanda t-shirt!

Dawanda is having a  design  contest
" create a t-shirt design that embraces the whole DaWanda community: buyers, sellers, DaWanda lovers, for the DaWanda merchandise shop, for those who come to check us out - including journalists and other members of the press"

This is too much fun. I already have a few ideas about this
but I also wanted to inform everyone because this is a great opportunity to promote your work
and help the community.

mass produced items and what do I think

This is something that makes me really sad but I thought I should share with you because I'm
 tired of all these people that think I'm an idiot and try to pass  mass produced imported stuff as hand made.

I have seen lately a lot of imported and mass produced items on dawanda .
And I'm not talking about supplies fabrics and other stuff .
I'm talking about clothes stationary and all kind of imported stuff.
I have flaged everything I saw and I believe that doesn't fit in the site.
I also wrote lots of times to dawanda  and I hope they will find time to review these.
But today I got really angry because a friend of mine on dawanda received a mail from
one of these sellers that was trying to sell there "handmade" items for retail.

What do I think ?

The reason I join a hand made market was because I was searching for unique items
and artists and I'm not going to stand by and see this  community  taken over by cheap mass produced,
human labor ,ugly items. 

I guess it's fine for people to sell mass produce stuff and the site can't see everything but it's sad for me to see people selling imported clothes and trying to pass them as hand made and not be angry.

of course this is only my opinion but if you agree with me
please make a difference support hand made

Big opening !!!

I've been having a lot of questions about dawanda.
and if I will reopen the shop and about the problems I had etc

I would like to say that

All problems seamed to worked out now  the little dawanda  shop will open again
(this totally depends on a project I'm preparing for the new shop).
I would like to say that this will be a NEW SHOP 
 
and this means new prints new jewelry new dolls and a lot of
 new items.
I also have a few surprises.
It made me really happy that I got so lovely feedback and appreciation
mails about the small give away pack
so my first surprise for the re-opening will be a giveaway
I can't say much at the moment but in the next week I will have some photos.
so visit often If you'd like to see more

Etsy decided to feature Greek shops .
 I got a mail from the lovely Aranwen last week  she is preparing a a Storque Article about shop local Greece
So I decided to send this portrait. This is me with my beloved frog.
 The picture was taken in my home town near the my elementary school.
I used to spend a lot of hours by the river. Sometimes when I feel sad
I go back to this place.
Behind the camera is my bf who is not  jealous after all frog is the source of my inspiration

(If you haven't already seen it I just wanted to let you know that etsy
will be down today for  scheduled maintenance,
but by tomorrow it will be back.)

Bookmarks

This is one of the new items I've been talking about
these lovely mini bookmarks.


I made these before the holidays for my Xmas gifts
but they where such a big hit and I got some awesome feedback
so I decided to make a few more and list them at the shop.

They are mini prints of my drawings printed in high quality gloss paper
and laminated.
They are decorated with colorful ribbons and yarn.

Something new ♥

I have finally taken a decision about my dawanda shop.
And I want to thank everyone for your support and lovely mails.
I 've decided  to stay with dawanda a bit longer.
The shop will be temporally closed because I have to finish
a few custom orders.
I have so many new ideas about this year and I'm preparing a
lot of new items.

And some really cool news I will be participating in a group exhibition
in munich later this year so if you'd like to see more about that

LAST DAY FOR DAWANDA

Today is the last day for my dawanda shop I will be closing tomorrow
and everything will be moved on Etsy
So I will be listing a few more prints and pocket mirrors only this time I will
list only one of each including some new designs
and I will not renew my listings

POLYVORE IS STEALING IMAGES

I recently discovered a site polyvore.com that is been steeling images
that have a watermark and are used by there members
any way they want.
I even seen comments from people congratulate each other
for what they created.
I discovered my images today and I already contacted the site to remove them.
I also discovered art from other people and I'm trying to contact
as many as I can.
